OUR PROCESS
At Instaclear Customs, our headlight restoration service is a professional, multi-step process designed to permanently restore clarity, improve visibility, and protect headlights from future UV damage. Unlike quick wipe-on kits or temporary solutions, our method is built for long-lasting, professional-grade results.
Step 1: Inspection & Preparation
Thorough inspection of oxidation levels and masking off surrounding paint and trim.
step 2: Refinement Sanding (If Necessary)
Before wet sanding, we inspect the headlights for any remaining imperfections. If needed, we use a DA sander with finer grit to further smooth and refine the surface. This step is only performed when required to ensure an even, consistent finish prior to wet sanding.
Step 3: Additional Wet Sanding
Wet sanding is always necessary after using the DA sander. This step ensures any remaining oxidation or imperfections are fully removed, leaving a smooth, even surface ready for polishing and clear coat application.
Step 4: Deep Cleaning & Surface Prep
The headlights are thoroughly cleaned and prepped to ensure proper adhesion of the protective coating. Any residue, oils, or polishing compounds are completely removed.
Step 5: UV Protective Clear Coat Application
We apply a sprayed automotive-grade UV-resistant clear coat to seal and protect the headlights. This is not a wipe-on or temporary coating. Our sprayed clear coat creates a durable protective barrier that helps prevent future yellowing, oxidation, and UV damage.
Step 6: Curing & Final Inspection
Once the clear coat is applied, the headlights are allowed to properly cure. After curing, we perform a final inspection to ensure clarity, even finish, and long-term protection quality standards are met.
